Activating and Deactivating Loads
This video illustrates the activation and deactivation of loads during multiple load steps when performing finite element analysis in ANSYS Workbench Mechanical.
Note that when taking substeps, the analysis can eliminate a force or pressure instantaneously with deactivation, although a force or pressure can be ramped up if it is activated and there are substeps. Applied displacements can be activated and deactivated. When displacements are deactivated, the constraint is immediately removed, but the reaction forces are gradually released during the substeps inside the deactivation load step.
