ESSS just released their latest software update (Rocky DEM 4.2) with improvements to modeling, particle collision analysis, spring and damper motion, and integration with ANSYS® Workbench™ fluid-particle simulation.
With Rocky DEM 4.2, you can learn how collisions happen within a particle (including duration, impact, and shear) so you can estimate abrasion, chipping, and damage—and how collisions affect the system. Spring and damper motion capabilities have been added, so you no longer need to couple with external motion-body software. The expanded ANSYS Workbench integration enables different scale simulation inside the same schematic, and the modeling range of real fibers and particles has been expanded, further improving simulation speed.
