Background: By combining and maximizing engineering knowledge in both physical test and advanced software capabilities, Al has led multi-disciplinary and multi-company projects. His work includes the International Space Station Project, litigation work, and advanced thermal, structural, dynamic, and composites analyses. He’s authored two composite finite element algorithms, and his software code experience includes ANSYS, Nastran, NISA, ASAS, Algor, and SAP86. Recently he has been exploring the Digital Twin world. With the advances in computer software, data acquisition and data management systems, complex engineering problems have become much easier to tackle from an overall integrated approach. The challenge is often getting the customer to understand the value of the information (product optimization, failure analysis, predictive maintenance).
